Modbus TCP

Modbus TCP

As a modern variant of the Modbus protocol, Modbus TCP is often used for individual sensors, such as energy meters or temperature sensors, in the factory hall. In contrast to Modbus RTU, no individual wires are used here, but the familiar Ethernet connection is used. Therefore, only a single Ethernet cable needs to be connected from a Modbus TCP device to an ENLYZE SPARK Edge device in order to capture the data of this device for the ENLYZE data platform. If you have already connected this sensor, a simple network switch can help here.

Required information:

  • Manufacturer and device designation/article number of the Modbus RTU device. A photo of the type plate is also sufficient here.

  • IP address of the device
