Karsten Riest will present how he calculates the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) of production based on machine, energy, and order data.
More than 30 different products are produced on the production lines, and their Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) varies significantly due to different raw materials and technical settings on the production line. To calculate the PCF on a project basis, machine, energy, and order data are used to accurately determine the CO2 emissions for each order and thus each product.
In the webinar, Dr. Karsten Riest will discuss his approach, the challenges that arose along the way, and what the current process looks like to actually carry out the calculation. He will also elaborate on the central role a Manufacturing Data Platform plays in this process.
